SUNDAY FUNDAY WITH CHASE RAYL
So the skate day on Sunday movedjust as any other has since we started filming for this video. Meet up, warm up, skate a spot and move on. So after sessioning the first spot for roughly 2 and a half hours and coming away with 4 or 5 usable tricks, we were excited to keep the momentum rolling. Jordan suggested we film a line at the TCC Metro campus’s new arts building. As I set up the camera, Jordan did flat ground tricks to warm up. As I took my place for his first try on the line, I noticed a security guard approaching out of the corner of my eye. He told us to leave as I was on the way walking to my car because sad to say, I’ve been through this drill plenty of times in my ten years of skateboarding. The first guard seemed pissed, but still keeping a level head about things, that’s when I met Dan McSlarrow. He asked for my ID as I put my camera gear up in my car so we could leave as his partner had asked. I said “why do you need my ID im obviously on the way out, as you can see in the video by the car door being open. He insisted and in the interest of time and hassle, I handed over my drivers license. He scoured at it and moved on to our friend Chase. He asked him for his ID and Chase responded “I don’t have it on me, its in my car with my wallet” and with that Dan took his hand and grabbed for Chases back pocket and gave him a small push. Chase, doing what any man whose wallet or ass were being attacked would do, pushed guard McSlarrow away from him informing him to “Get the fuck off of me”. Out of rage, the guard acted on impulse, fumbling to produce a pistol, telling Chase “Get on the ground you sonofabitch” with his deep Oklahoma/ignorant asshole accent while waiving a loaded fire arm in all of our directions. McSlarrow and his other goon proceeded to tackle Chase, while he still rested his finger on the trigger of the gun. As you can see in the video the gun flashes a couple of times as the group wrestles around the ground, aiming right into Chases back at points. He drops it half way through and picks it up again after Chase broke free from not one but both of the goons strongholds. Somehow at the same time all of this commotion is going down, a real cop drives up on the scene, getting out too see what was going on. The guards tell the officer to arrest Chase for assault on a police officer (hardly, hes retired, couldn’t hang with the real dogs). They took these unstable guards false recollections of the past 5 minutes while I shouted the truth at the officer. We stood there and waited for a competent police officer to show up, because for some reason this officer couldn’t do anything. They had Chase on the ground, not giving us a fair voice or treatment, just because these guys used to bro it up at the police station a number of years ago. It was a match made Bully hell. They are trying to charge Chase with Assult on an officer.
